Q. Besides a tremendous cost savings over traditional landline service, what are the technical differences between Full Channel Digital Phone and a regular phone line?
A. Full Channel Digital Phone uses Full Channel’s advanced hybrid fiber-coax system to deliver crystal-clear telephone calls using your existing home telephones. You will make and receive calls exactly the way you have always done with a traditional landline.
Q. Does Full Channel Digital Phone require a Full Channel High-Speed Internet subscription?
A. No, you are not required to subscribe to Full Channel High-Speed Internet in order to use Digital Phone. However, the provided Digital Phone Adapter, which connects your home’s telephone system to the Full Channel network, can also double as a modem to connect your home data network – if you choose to subscribe – to Full Channel High-Speed Internet. A multiple-service discount may be applied to your bill if you subscribe to both services.
Q. What happens to my Digital Phone service if I experience problems with my TV or Internet services?
A. Full Channel continues to make investments and upgrades to its digital, fiber-rich network to ensure the reliability of all services. In the unlikely event that your TV or Internet service experiences trouble it does not necessarily mean that your Digital Phone service will stop working. Often times trouble with TV and Internet is isolated to a particular TV or computer and its configuration and does not affect Digital Phone services. Should you ever have problems placing or receiving calls, notify Full Channel immediately and we will work with you to determine the cause of the issue.
Q. Will my Digital Phone work during a power outage?
A. The Digital Phone Adapter is equipped with a battery backup good for up to 8 hours. If you have a phone that is plugged into your electrical outlet (such as a cordless phone set) and your power goes out, the phone will not work. If your phone draws its power from the Full Channel Digital Phone line it will continue to work until the Digital Phone Adapter battery backup drains.
Q. Can I use my answering machine with Full Channel Digital Phone?
A. If you would like to use an answering machine just set it to pickup before Full Channel Voicemail and use Full Channel as a failsafe backup. (If you want to still use your answering machine, you can set your answering machine to pick-up before Full Channel voicemail. You can use Full Channel Voicemail as a back-up in case your answering machine fails.)
Q. Can I connect all my current phones to Full Channel Digital Phone service?
A. Yes, all your phones can work using one phone number.
Q. Can I use my Digital Phone while using the Internet?
A. Yes, as long as you are using Full Channel High-Speed Internet connection (not dial-up) for your Internet service.
Q. Can I call 911 in case of an emergency?
A. Yes, Enhanced 911 is fully supported. In the case of an extended power outage or network outage, 911 service and phone service will not be available. If you move your Digital Phone Adapter to a different address without contacting Full Channel, the 911 operator will not have the proper address to direct emergency responders to.
Q. Can I have a fax machine?
A. Yes, your Digital Phone Adapter supports multiple Digital Phone lines. One of these lines can be used for your fax machine.
Q. Can I use a rotary phone (pulse dial) with Full Channel Digital Phone?
A. No. You must use Touch-Tone phones to place calls.
Q. Who do I call if I have a problem with a service or feature?
A. Call Full Channel by dialing ‘0’ from your Full Channel Digital Phone or call 401-247-1250 from another phone line.
